Seed Library

Located in Springvale Library at the Springvale Community Hub, the Greater Dandenong Seed Library contributes to food security and wellbeing in the Greater Dandenong area, encouraging community members to grow their own food and produce no matter how big or small their garden space is.

How the Seed Library works

On the second Saturday of the month, community members are encouraged to visit the Seed Library to collect and swap excess seeds, share tips and exchange gardening stories.

What can be shared when visiting the Seed Library:

  • Saved seeds, seedlings and edible cuttings.
  • Gardening tips, skills, stories and seasonal recipes.
  • Gardening magazines and books.

Events

The Seed Library will be supported through a workshop series and seed swapping events at Springvale Community Hub.

The Greater Dandenong Seed Library and associated workshops are free to join.
