Anne with an E is a television series based on the book Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The first movie based on this book came out in 1985.

This series Anne with an E is a reimagining of the classic book and film. It is based around a young orphan, Anne, who is adopted by Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, siblings who have never married. Anne is adopted with the intention of having an extra worker for their farm, as they asked for a boy, so they are unhappy initially when they receive Anne Shirley, a talkative, imaginative, exuberant girl, who is seeking love, acceptance and trying to find her place in the world. Over the course of the series, we get to see Matthew and Marilla bond with Anne and we get to enjoy her adventures as she develops friendships and gets into mischief! Amybeth McNulty stars as Anne and is just perfect in this role! It is a lovely series, for both the young and the not so young anymore. I highly recommend!
