Everyone and Everything

Everyone and Everything by Nadine J Cohen

Yael Silver is struggling to get back into the world after a suicide attempt with only her quick wit, family, friends and therapist to guide her back.

Set in Sydney, the locations, cafes and beaches provide an inviting backdrop to Yael’s healing. Although the topics are challenging, Nadine navigates these with compassion and wry humour delivered with Gilmore Girl speed. The relationships provide the avenues for her self-discovery and each one guides her gently through recovery.

The intergenerational history of being a granddaughter to Jewish Australian migrants is a key theme and it underpins her sometimes strained relationship with her sister Liora.

I found this book beautifully written with compassion, razor sharp wit and beautifully read by Florette Cohen via BorrowBox.

This title would interest those with broad reading tastes. Topics include Jewish religion and rituals, suicide, therapy, relationships, family, Australian locations and healing.
