The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

This book really is a modern classic. It was a very slow read for me as it was a very unique writing style. I quite enjoyed it when I was looking for something more complex to read and read it alongside a separate book, alternating between the two. The dystopic nature of the book had me very intrigued and also had me questioning a lot of topics. I found myself researching a lot of information mentioned in the book and a lot of it was quite shocking, like martial law. Also seeing how they took religion to the extreme and manipulated verses in the Bible to better fit their regime was quite confronting. This book deals with some hard topics but was an amazing read! Be prepared to take your time to really digest it.
