This is Not a Book About Benedict Cumberbatch by Tabitha Carvan
I recently read This is not a book about Benedict Cumberbatch by Tabitha Carvan. It is a memoir about the author’s sudden and seemingly inexplicable love for Benedict Cumberbatch.
Tabitha Carvan writes with an easy going, personal style that invites you in and makes you feel at home. She is very witty and self-deprecating and will have you laughing from page one. She starts with jokes and then delves deep into what it means to love something passionately and unabashedly, even if it is Benedict Cumberbatch. This is a book about motherhood, losing your identity, and finding yourself again.
I loved Tabitha’s key message: "find your thing, whatever it may be, and love it like your life depends on it," which she hammers home throughout the book.
This book was insightful, fun to read, and inspiring – I would highly recommend it, especially to anyone who has had strong obsessions or been a part of a fandom.
