Top Gun: Maverick
Welcome back to the danger zone! From the opening shots of planes waltzing off an aircraft carrier to the strains of Kenny Loggins’ song Danger Zone, little has changed in the world of Top Gun.
Maverick may be testing jets out in the Mojave Desert, but he’s still got the jacket, the bike, the aviator shades and (most importantly) the “need for speed” that made him a hit back in 1986.
A full 36 years of 1980s blockbuster nostalgia as Tom Cruise and producer Jerry Bruckheimer prove that they can still make movie like they used to. Top Gun 2 reboots the original film's heart-pounding aerial action and still manages to take your breath away. Cruise hits the right notes as Maverick and Hamm, Teller, Connelly, and the young pilots are all superb! It also pays a nice tribute to the past film.
I really enjoyed every minute of the movie and if you decide to watch it strap in for the thrillingly real aerial dog fights.
