Villains are Destined to Die by Suol
I didn’t realise until I read this Manhua (Korean comic) that women transported into a video game as a villain whose fate they hope to avoid was going to become a favourite genre. Its more prolific than you think. But here we are and if I like it I’m hoping others will too.
Penelope, a normal woman from our world, wakes up one day as the villain in a video game. A game where the villain does not have a happy ending. She doesn’t know how to get home – not that’s shes very interested in going home – but she also doesn’t want to die horribly.
Her quest then? To befriend the other characters in the game only enough that they leave her alone. There’s a lot to like about this book. The art is beautiful and in full colour, the story line is interesting, I love the main character and I can’t wait to see what happens to her.
It has made me laugh, and once even cry but so it’s more than worth the read The library has the first five volumes already so there’s lots of story to read with lots more left to go.
