Bear Grylls is a former soldier, an adventurer and a television presenter. Never Give Up - A Life of Adventure is his second autobiography. It focuses on his life since he starred in the survival-themed television show Man Vs Wild. It is the sequel to his first autobiography Mud, Sweat and Tears which was published in 2011.
I chose to review this book because I enjoyed reading Mud, Sweat and Tears and watching some of Bear’s television shows including Man Vs Wild and Running Wild.
One thing I liked about the book is Bear’s positivity. He expresses his gratitude towards his family, his friends and his work colleagues. He enjoys the excitement of his adventurous life. He writes about the power of nature to heal, bring people together, restore and challenge. I also like the way he writes about when things don’t go so well. He writes about his fears, his insecurity, and how to deal with failure. He writes about the physical injuries and pain he has had as a result of his way of life in the chapter Scar Tissue.
Overall, this book is about adventures and advice on how to live life and cope with challenges.
