Sewing items on a table, including measuring tape, scissors, thread, pin and buttons.

Makerspace

In partnership with Springvale Community Hub, we are excited to launch a new Makerspace at Springvale Library, opening on Monday 16 March. The Makerspace includes a sewing machine that library members can use in the library to work on their own creative projects.

Sewing Machine Inductions

Before using the sewing machine, you’ll need to attend a short induction session covering safety and basic operation. This is not a class, just a quick introduction to help you get started with confidence.

Bookings are required for induction sessions.

Induction times:

Mondays: 6.15pm–7.15pm

Tuesdays: 11am–12pm

Sewing Machine Use

Once you’ve completed an induction, the sewing machine is available for booked use for up to 2 hours during the following times from 16 March onwards:

Mondays: 6.15pm–8.45pm

Tuesdays: 9.15am–12.45pm

Bookings are required to use the sewing machine. To book a session, please call Springvale Library on 1300 630 920 or speak with library staff in person.

Come along, learn the basics, and start creating in our new Makerspace.
