About the Collection
The Library of Things is a collection of useful objects that members aged 18+ can borrow.
The collection supports sustainability, encourages resource sharing and gives the community an opportunity to try and use items they might not be able to buy themselves.
The collection includes:
- Airspot CO2 monitors
- Wellbeing kits (containing blood pressure monitor, pulse meter and digital thermometers)
- Thermal cameras for heat loss detection
- Home energy kits
- Envoy audio players
- Digital slide/negative converters
- Sporting equipment (basketballs, table-tennis sets, mini rockets and foosballs)
How it works
Library of Things items have different loan periods and cannot be renewed:

Sports equipment is limited to one item loan per membership, while other Library of Things items are limited to two.
You will need to be 18 years or older, have a full library membership and go through a short induction process before borrowing your first item.

Terms and Conditions
Library of Things
- Patrons must be over the age of 18 and have a full Greater Dandenong Libraries membership to borrow from the Library of Things.
- Only two items can be borrowed per library membership. Items cannot be renewed.
- Items must be borrowed and returned from the item's home library location within library opening hours.
- Items must be handed directly to staff.
- Patrons must complete and sign a disclaimer in person prior to borrowing.
Sporting equipment (for onsite use only)
- Sporting equipment can be borrowed by any library member with a Greater Dandenong Library membership.
- Only one item can be borrowed at a time.
- Items are only available for onsite loan and should be returned directly to staff within two hours of borrowing
Future plans
We hope to grow the collection over time and will be seeking community input on what items would be useful to members.
