The Future of Dinosaurs

The Future of Dinosaurs by David W. E. Hone

If you are looking for a guide to different species of dinosaur and what we know about individual species, this is not the book for you. It is very much an overview of the history and development of palaeontology and how our views of dinosaurs have changed over time and how they may change in the future.

There is a description of different technologies and how different cultural paradigms, and interests affect where the money and focus is in the research of dinosaurs, and how this has a flow on effect in the levels of knowledge in different areas.

Hone also gives us a brief description of competing theories and ideas that are currently being researched and discussed in the palaeontology field.

They are also some lovely illustrations and photos of different fossils and interpretations of what dinosaurs may have looked like.

I do not recommend this book for young children but rather a tween or older reader who has an interest in the history and development in the field of palaeontology. This book is written in a way that makes it easy for people to understand even with little scientific understanding.
