The Library that Dolly built: Celebrating the People Who Made Dolly's Dream Come True

The Library that Dolly Built: Celebrating the People Who Made Dolly's Dream Come True

Even if you don't get excited about country music, if you watch this doco, you'll love Dolly Parton. She is an amazing woman. Not only does she support a whole literacy program for kids before school-age, she supports families after bushfires and other tragedies and has a whole history of promoting education.

The before school-age support program is called ‘Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library’ which has affiliates all over the USA and other countries, including Australia. It provides high-quality books to eligible children from 0-5 years. So far 168 million books have been gifted to children through this program!

Dolly also has a Dream Park 'Dollywood' which provides jobs for many and fun for all. The documentary also gives a history of Dolly Parton - singer, actor, philanthropist and book lady - her favourite title.

You should definately check out The Library that Dolly Built on Kanopy which has lots of movies and documentaries available for entertainment and education.
