The One by John Marrs
The One is one of those books you pick up out of curiosity and end up binge reading in a couple of sittings.
The concept is a DNA test that matches you with your perfect partner, but the way it plays out is dark, twisty and way more complicated than it sounds.
Each chapter follows a different character, which I found easy to follow along and just when you think you know where things are going, Marrs throws in another curveball. It’s entertaining, a bit creepy and makes you question whether you’d actually want to meet your “one.”
Definitely worth a read if you enjoy fast-paced thrillers with a sci-fi twist. I ended up binge-listening to four more of Marrs’ books after finishing this one.
I would recommend to anyone who enjoys concepts like the TV show Black Mirror
