The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni

Kiva as the main character felt almost refreshing, seeing as how open and resourceful she is. Despite being locked up for 10 years, her skills are still being tested and improving. She is also somewhat of a mother figure to a younger character, Tipp, which is another great aspect about her character. This book is about the challenges Kiva faces as she meets new people and finally has the courage to break out of Zalindov after being trapped and enslaved for 10 years.

The story really goes by quickly and is very interesting as a fantasy novel as is introduces a lot of mysteries.
